Built on a store-bought crust, but the garlic-oil brush and a hot stone underneath do the actual work. Slightly more effort than a frozen pizza, with a way higher payoff.
Preheat oven to 425°F with a pizza stone inside.
Let the dough come to room temperature, 30 to 120 minutes.
Stretch the dough and place it on the hot stone, which should be dusted first with cornmeal.
Mix the minced garlic with the olive oil and brush it over the dough.
Bake 5 to 7 minutes.
Remove from the oven and top as desired — starting with the mozzarella, then the sausage, onion and halved tomatoes. Sprinkle with oregano, if desired.
Bake another 5 to 10 minutes, until the cheese is fully melted and the crust edges are blistered.
